"Pondering Paradise" is another in my series exploring the spirit of femininity and was inspired by a rich blend of Jane Eyre (spending time watching the movies with my mother) and Alfred Lord Tennyson's "Lady of Shalott" (one of my husband's favorite poems and a beautiful song by Loreena McKennitt). At a time in my life when the stresses of running a business collided with being a wife and the mother of a two year old, came work such as "Pondering Paradise" and "Gift of Peace" that seemed to reach for a sense of Victorian leisure.
While most of the work in the feminine series centers around the connection between women and their relationship with the natural world, "Pondering Paradise" is an expression of the importance of inner peace and tranquility. As a result, it tends to pair thematically very well with "Gift of Piece" and any of the other ladies of the collection. "Faithful Expression", "Wild Bouquet" and "Blossom Reach" form a smaller collection of simple flower designs that are my personal favorite to couple with "Pondering Paradise".
"Pondering Paradise" is a harbinger of tranquility and stress relief. She is, therefore, best suited for either the places where you are under the most pressure (such as an office or workspace), or the places you go to unwind and let it all drift away, such as the bathroom (within view from the tub).
