Thrown on the wheel, this small red bowl measures 2 3/4 inches tall by 6 1/4 inches wide, and is hand carved with a concentric pattern outside.
Finished in an elegant, impressive red glaze,

I have been making pottery professionally for over 30 years. Craftsmanship is very important to me.

The rims of my bowls are always rounded, and the foot of each bowl is always smooth.
It's so important that the curve of my bowl is rounded just right.

After throwing a bowl on the wheel, the bowl is trimmed - so the clay is the same thickness throughout.
A foot is added at this point, so the bowl can stand. The bowl is then carved, smoothed, and terra sigillata is applied to the bottom. I am then ready to sign the piece!

After drying completely, the bowl is placed in the kiln, and fired to 1700 degrees.
Finally, I apply multiple layers of glazes - the bowl returns to the kiln for a final firing to 1940...and is then ready for you to purchase!!

Each piece is double boxed for shipping to help assure safe arrival at your door.
