I have hand-sculpted these magical ceramic ornaments from white clay and impressed real evergreen plant twigs into the clay. The plants I have used range from Eastern red cedars, spruces, junipers, giant sequoia, redwood, firs to conifers. The ceramic ornaments have a plant impression on both sides, not the identical one, but from two different twigs of the same plant species.

After firing these ceramic ornaments were finished with an antique golden acrylic finish in a distressed look. The ceramic ornaments have a wonderful satin metallic sheen to them. The ceramic ornaments are suspended from golden sheer ribbons. The cut ends of the ribbons are treated with anti-fray, so they will stay pristine through any handling they may receive.
The ceramic ornaments are cut in different shapes, the small size measures at least 1 1/2 inches on one of the sides, the medium size measures at least 2 1/2 inches on one of the sides, the ornaments are appr. 2/8 inch thick. Due to the ornaments' hand-sculpted nature please allow for variations to these measurements, as they are averages and guidelines only - I generally cut the ornament into the shape that best suits the twigs impressed into it, some are more square, some elongated, most end up as rather balanced rectangles.

This listing is for a set of three (3) ornaments Please note, that the listing pictures are representative of the clay ornaments you will receive and you may not receive the exact ones pictured. Each set will include three different ceramic ornaments, meaning three different plant impressions and varying shapes. If you have a preference for a specific plant, feel free to make a comment on your order and I will make sure your set includes at least one impression of that plant species.

The gold color was brighter than I was expecting. I was expecting a more natural look with a hint of gold, however, they are beautiful.

Please beware that color management is a complicated issue. However, if you have a specific preference, please voice it at the time of your order! These ornaments are always finished to order, so I can accommodate any special requests or preferences you may have. How much color gets applied to the flat surface of the ornaments is infinitely variable, so they can have a more natural look or be mostly golden. The same also goes for my green finish. Only the silver finish is uniformly opaque.

These imprint ornaments are even more spectacular in hand than in the photos. So simple, clear, and elegant. The gold is a true gold, not as light as in the photo but no less stunning, and the ribbon compliments the art perfectly. I will purchase from this artist again. Being curious by nature, I wish each plant name was supplied but I’ll figure them out easily since the prints are so crisply formed in the clay. Beautiful.

Clarification on the gold color: the listing pictures were taking in daylight, hence making them appear fairly light. In sunshine or incandescent light, the gold will appear warmer. Due to the distressed finishing the flat surface of the ornaments always have a less strong layer of paint, within the plant impression, the coverage is full. Also, please remember, that each person's monitor is set to personal preferences making color management online a challenge.
