We include over 20 photographs to show the detail and building process along with step by step instructions to build and erect a beautiful pergola. No nails needed - assembled with easy carriage bolt and all screw construction. You can build the following sizes with these plans:: 10' x 10'', 12' x 12', 14' x 14' or or a 16' x 16' pergola - or any size in between by simply adjusting the length of the boards to a custom size. Sizes are based on the top canopy size, with the post then set in 12".
All materials can be easily sourced and purchased at your local home improvement or lumber store - and you can save thousands building it yourself! With average wood working skills you can have it built and up in a weekend, or in a day with a little help.
All you need is a jigsaw, drill, measuring tape, bolts and screws.
Our Pergola design is made to handle the outdoors. Using strong 6 x 6 posts and heavy duty double beams. . Strong cross beam rafters are then double notched on each side to slip down over main beams. A top grid of stringers then give depth and strength to the pergola.
