Gaia, the goddess of Earth in ancient classical mythology - the primal mother of all who first emerged at the dawn of creation. She gave birth to Uranus, the sky, and Pontus, the sea, and all mortal creatures sprung from her earthly womb.
A polymer clay cabochon that embodies Gaia in golds, greens and touches of berry provides the focal point and the name of the piece. From Gaia grows a tree of polymer clay leaves and long magatama berries portraying the life Gaia created. Soft flowing supple grosgrain ribbons terminating in tiny rows of seed beads provide the natural closure to this bead embroidered collar honouring Mother Gaia.
