We have been making shirts since 2008. Shoulder Shirts™ were developed for my mother for her to have an easy way to dress independently after her shoulder surgery and she wanted something more fashionable than altered t-shirts that didn’t her fit well. My mother found our hook and loop closures (velcro like) are the easiest way to be able to fasten your shirt with one hand. (Our custom made Shoulder Shirts™ are specifically designed so the hook and loop closures do not touch your skin and are not scratchy.) She found snaps worked great in our designs where gravity held them in place on the sides of the shirts, but when on the shoulders, snaps were difficult to fasten with one hand.

This style of gown has a rounded neck that opens at both shoulders with hook and loop fastener (velcro like) for ease in dressing (or nursing) and drop sleeves that don't require fastening. Each Shoulder Shirt™ comes with a ribbon designed to pull up the back shoulder into position for fastening the shirt. (See pictures for examples of how the shirts work.)

The gowns tend to run big to accommodate braces and casts so I have included the approximate measurements. (I do not recommend ordering the next size larger than you normally wear without first checking these measurements.)

Fabric: 100% Cotton. This fabric is a cotton woven fabric featuring an adorable Mickey print on a white background. This gown is loose and comfy is wonderful for someone after surgery when you can't wear a bra. It is great for recuperating at home and would be wonderful to use in place of that drafty hospital gown. Wonderful for late night breastfeeding too.

Shoulder Shirts make wonderful gifts for friends and family after surgery!! They last much longer than flowers and are so useful in their recuperation. They are also great baby shower presents for that soon-to-be nursing mom.

Enjoy dressing without discomfort during your recuperation from surgery. All types of shoulder surgery, breast surgery or anything that limits lifting your arms when dressing. If you suffer from stroke, hospice, arthritis or some other condition that does not allow you to lift your arms, these shirts are a must. Seniors and caregivers love the ease and comfort of these shirts. They are also a hit with nursing mothers with their easy access and style.

My mother had rotator cuff surgery twice and I made her some shirts that released at the shoulders. Her physical therapist was so impressed he requested that I make them to sell. These shirts are specifically designed and created with care and love. I am hoping to help others after their surgery by easing some of the discomfort caused by their clothing. These shirts also work well for people with arthritis, as well as breastfeeding mother. I have been sewing for over 30 years now and received training from a professional seamstress from Malta. All seams are finished and details are a must in anything that I create. I hope you enjoy your shirt as much as I enjoy making them.
