I crafted this spoon necklace from a vintage silverplated spoon in the beautifully detailed "Viceroy" pattern from 1936, and embellished it with aquamarine Swarovski crystals. This pattern is a little hard to find, but I found several of these spoons in beautiful condition.

It's suspended on a silver finished 18" snake chain with lobster clasp. You may also opt for a 16", 20" or 24" chain if you wish. Just choose your favorite length from the dropdown menu at checkout.

The spoon's original beauty has not been altered or disguised, but enhanced and with just a bit of color and flash. It has been cut, formed, cleaned, polished and look how it shines! It measures 1 3/4", so I would classify it as a medium spoon pendant. Even though it's ornate; it's really quite light.

CUSTOMIZE IT:
I currently have extra spoons in the 'Viceroy' pattern, so if you'd like different colored crystals, I can make a custom pendant for you. Just let me know what you'd like in the 'note to seller' box at checkout. If I have any questions, I'll send you a note via Etsy 'convo', so please check your messages after ordering if you've requested a different color.

Although I choose and refurbish spoons very carefully, they do show small signs of 'vintage character'. Taking into consideration their age and previous history; it's pretty amazing that they shine up as beautifully as they do. I do not use any spoons that have plate loss or extreme signs of use, but please expect a few slight signs from their previous life.

If you don't know the name of your pattern, please include a quick picture of one of the handles. I'm very careful and cautious when working with your family heirlooms and there are a few patterns that are harder to work with, or could be problematic.

I prefer to work with either sterling silver or silverplate. Stainless steel pieces are often too thick, and therefore too hard to bend.

This necklace is so pretty! My picture doesn't really do it justice. It doesn't have any scratches and the added crystals make it stand out from other spoon necklaces. It was wrapped to perfection in a pretty little bag with pretty tissue paper and ribbons, wish I would have taken a photo of it. The personal note from Marianne, the tag with the pattern and date of the spoon, plus the polishing cloth were nice extras. Shipping was fast too. Would definitely purchase another piece of jewelry from Marianne again!
