This listing is for prints of my original watercolor painting from my "Wear What You Eat: World History" series. This is a new series featuring animals from around the world dressed in one style of clothing from a culture of that region during the Middle Ages. Each animal's clothing is made from what that animal eats in its native ecosystem, representing the delicate environmental balance between animals, plants, and humans. This series consists of my most heavily researched paintings since it was vitally important to me to accurately depict traditional clothing.
This print features a beaver dressed in a style worn by the Tlingit in an area now known as the Pacific coast of the northern United States and southern Canada. Her clothes are made from aquatic plants and trees native to this part of the world that make up the beaver's diet, including yellow pond lilies, broadleaf arrowhead, quillwort, slough sedge grass, aspen, Pacific willow, and silver maple.
I offer three print sizes, each with a white border to allow for framing so none of the image is covered by frame or mat edge):
Option 1: 5" x 7" print
Option 2: 8" x 10" print
Option 3: 11" x 14" print
I make each print in my studio on acid-free archival quality cold press (textured) watercolor paper using vibrant archival quality inks to preserve the detail of my original watercolor. Each print arrives hand signed and by the artist (me).
Shipping info:
Options 1 & 2 ship lovingly packaged in a clear sleeve with acid-free recycled cardboard backing to prevent damage during shipping.
Option 3 ships carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and rolled inside a protective cardboard tube to prevent damage during shipping. (Prints will arrive curled but will flatten when affixed to a mat or frame.)
