Want to stand out from the curling sweater-clad crowd? We hear you.
Behold, our rare curling sweater design based on a hard-to-find vintage knitting pattern. And we mean hard-to-find! It took us months to track down this 1950s pattern, but boy are glad we did. This beauty of a sweater departs from the usual Mary Maxim design of crossed brooms and stones adorning the bottom, and also features two curlers dueling it out across your back.
Individuality! Yes!
Your custom curling sweater will be hand knit to order, please allow 4-6 weeks for your custom knitted sweater to ship.
Please note that this is a NEW sweater, NOT a vintage sweater. That makes it the ideal gift for yourself or someone else.
The Mary Maxim company made their mark on the world of knitting and fashion when they began producing a line of knitting patterns for home knitters based (loosely) on Cowichan sweaters from Vancouver Island Canada. There are actually a lot of differences between Cowichan sweaters and Mary Maxim designs but they are often confused. The overall shape of the sweaters - cardigan styles, often with raglan sleeves and shawl collars is very similar to the Cowichan designs - and some of the Mary Maxim sweaters do feature motifs that are based on the same motifs found in Cowichan sweaters. However, more often than not if you compare Mary Maxim sweaters to Cowichan sweaters you will find that they are really nothing alike. The Mary Maxim company did design beautiful sweaters though! What is fun about these timeless designs is their ULTRA kitschy-ness!
