This is a feminine, soft and joyous fragrance, named after the novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and its main character, Anne Shirley, a remarkable young woman working as a schoolteacher in the 1900s.

Yes, but so does any other soap maker under the sun. Soap is the result of a chemical reaction between fats and alkali (lye), during which both are transformed into a completely new substance - soap! Please rest assured there is no lye (or sodium hydroxide) in the finished product. My soaps are very mild and safe even for sensitive skin.
