**Pattern ERRATA - On PAGE 7 after rows 47 and 48, Pattern should read 'REPEAT ROWS 47-48' and NOT to repeat rows 45 and 46** This has been corrected in the pattern as of 2-12-14
On page 16, the pattern should read to switch to size 13 circular needles before picking up and knitting the stitches for the cowl portion. This has been corrected in the pattern as of 7-29-14**
This listing is for the KNITTING PATTERN to make the District 12 Katniss inspired piece.
For the seasoned knitter, you can probably make this cowl in just a few days, novice knitters can probably get it done in about a week or so :-)
The arm opening can be worn on either side (the front and back are made the same!).
This is different from my original pattern (Don't forget to check out my Katniss Inspired Cowl here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/171595891/pattern-pdf-pattern-for-diy-katniss?ref=shop_home_feat_3)
The body is less structured, the cowl is a bit wider and lower than the original, and this newest version has a wide band that goes across one arm. There are also more woven braids on this version.
The finishing process is just as important to me as the knitting, and I have also included the tips I have for making the finishing of your garment just a lovely as the knitting :-)
GENERAL SKILLS NEEDED: knitting, knitting in the round, picking up and knitting stitches, increasing and decreasing.
I think this pattern is suitable for many skill levels, including an adventurous newby knitter.
Pattern written to make 5 sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL and also gives directions to customize the fit to your own measurements, although the fit of this garment is not super important and one size will fit many body sizes and types with no adjusting.
BASIC MATERIALS: about 300-450 yards of bulky or super bulky yarn (depending on size made)
size 15 and size 13 needles
GUAGE: 2 sts/ 3 rows = 1" on size 13
You may make items to sell from this pattern, but credit must be given to me in your listing. The pattern specifies the language to be used.
This pattern may not be used to produce this item commercially for sale or for mass production, but rather is to be used by home crafters for limited sales only.
