I have a real soft spot for mushrooms. They seem to have personalities of their own, each one unique. This one seems to have had an unfortunate run-in with a hungry little critter.

This is my husband’s favorite of all of Shelly’s mushrooms. I haven’t been able to select a favorite but this one is up there with the best. It has a beautiful deep color to it and a fanciful quality to it. It adds depth to the grouping and kind of keeps the eye moving while providing an anchor to the group. I had no idea there were so many different mushrooms but I ‘m such these beauties are just a drop in the bucket. I love the way only one pops up in all the lush greenery. It reminds me of the little electric lanterns we plant on our walkway up to our front door. Who knows what tales these delightful wonders have to tell?
