Labradorite Victorian Style Oxidized Brass Necklace.
The antiqued brass Victorian style stamping is accented by an oval Labradorite bead hanging from the bottom that is embellished with a matching filigree bead cap. The hanging Labradorite the swings freely from the bottom of the brass piece – which is quite strong. The Labradorite bead is approximately 18mm or 3/5ths of an inch long.
Labradorite has an opal-like fire, but it is MUCH harder, more durable and scratch resistant!
“At rest” the Labradorite is an unassuming, earthy color.
As Labradorite is a product of Mother Nature, please expect variances in the size, color and flash colors of each bead.
This Labradorite Victorian Style Oxidized Brass Necklace is 21 inches long, and it hangs on a small but sturdy oxidized brass chain with soldered links. The tiny hook allows for easy adjustment to any length - however, you would not want to do it all the time - just once in a while. We Highly recommend shortening the chain to about 18 inches - because right now - unless this is for a very large / tall woman - the stone is only visible when wearing the most plunging of necklines.
If you prefer that the chain on your necklace be made shorter, please convo. us or leave a message in the "Note To Seller" box and we will be happy to do that for you free of charge.
This necklace comes in a tiny box OR keepsake pouch which is suitable for giving – and perfect for storage when it is not being worn. It would be great for yourself or to give as a gift. It goes well with jeans or a little black dress. Perfect for someone of any age.
This necklace is built to last. The links in the chain are soldered so it cannot fall apart on you. The hook style clasp hooks into the chain, so it is easy to fasten. This necklace does not require a lot of special care. It is constructed so you can enjoy it for many, many years to come.
As Labradorite is a product of Mother Nature, please allow for differences in the sizes and colors of each bead.

Labradorite is a gemstone that is a member of the feldspar group, and is an opaque dark gray to grey-green stone with flashes of blue and green inside of it. It is known for its dark, iridescent sheen and play of light known as labradorescence. In some lights Labradorite is a soft gray or soft grey-blue/grey-green. When it catches the light it flashes blues and greens, and occasionally orange and gold.
Labradorite is credited with mystic attributes. It is a stone of transformation that brings light, and is alleged to enhance strength and perseverance by eliminating disturbing thoughts, insecurities and disappointments, thus helping you achieve your life’s destiny. It is also thought to be especially helpful for people who tend to overwork by quieting us physically, emotionally and spiritually. It helps us regain our energy and helps with originality, precision, patience and intellectual thoughts. It is also credited with treating disorders of the brain, digestion and metabolism as well as reducing anxiety and stress. Labradorite is said to be a good protector for spiritual journeys and is a stone that strengthens the aura.
Labradorite’s flashing colors have been connected with the northern lights. Legend has it that the northern lights were once imprisoned in stones on Labrador’s coast. Although an Eskimo warrior released most of them with a blow from a spear, some of those extra ordinary lights remained trapped in the rock we now call Labradorite.
Labradorite is also called black moonstone and spectrolite and is named for Labrador, the peninsula where was first found in 1770. It has also been found in prehistoric gravesites among buried artifacts in Maine. As well as being found in Labrador, it can also be found in Mexico, Finland and Russia.
