I originally designed and handmade these waterproof cloth potty training night wetter pants of:
100% flannel cotton for next to skin lining
Microfiber terry (multiple layers) for absorbent pad
Waterproof polyester knit PUL (polyurethane laminate) (solids and prints) for outer cover. Select color(s) and print(s) conveniently in a drop down menu.
This listing is for children with thigh round size under 16", 1 pants unless listed otherwise in the title.
They are individually custom fitted. Information needed from you to deliver this order: your child's thigh round size, waist round size, and rise. Height, weight and age information are optional, but helpful at times. Please leave measurements in Notes From Buyer section when check out or in conversation if you missed it.
How to measure: Use a tape ruler to measure your child's leg round size at top of thigh, measure waist round size just about belly button, and measure rise from belly button through the crotch and up to natural back waist, following the couture of the fanny, without clothes on.
Why individual fitting?
I have bought cloth diapers of expensive and well known brand for my daughter once she does BM in toilet. They were made of good materials and well sewn but useless because they leaked. They leaked because they didn't fit. Once my daughter's diapers were dry after nap, she started potty training. To avoid messy urine, I searched hard for training pants and bought several kinds. They had one or more of the following problems: need plastic cover; too hard to pull down by a child, if not impossible; exposed elastics and seams rubbing her skin; too bulky to wear; most annoying: they leaked. They leaked because they were pre-made, they didn't fit my child, especially around leg openings. So I made many trials and versions of my own training pants individually fitted to my daughter. The latest version worked so well that when my daughter didn't go potty in potty but in these pants, she didn't make one spot of urine mess which was all in the training pants. I was so proud that I was talking about them to everyone of my friends, one of them had a shop on Etsy and suggested I open one. And I did. Here these individual fitted waterproof potty training pants come aboard ETSY.
Product details:
Next to skin soft cotton lining makes them comfortable and train your child as children feel wetness when they go potty in the pants. (Disposable pull ups do not train and prolong training time). And yet, the absorbent microfiber draws in water, so your child is not soaked all through the night. There is no seams or edges anywhere in the pants to annoy your kid's skin.
Microfiber (MF) terry (multiple layer) draws and holds liquid in. MF is 100 times finer than human hair, containing 90000 microfibers per square inch, absorbs as much as 8 times of water of regular fiber and dries fast.
The outer PUL makes them waterproof. So urine does not soak your kid's long pants, socks, shoes, carseat, floor, mattress, or furniture. Look at the experiment I did with my kid's pants on my couch by pouring water in, not a single spot on sofa. If your child is still heavy night wetter, they may leak, you may review my shop feedback page: http://www.etsy.com/people/babybayrs/feedback, look for reviews by "Elizabeth Bernhardt" and "bridgetkearns".
The fact they are reusable is worth every penny. If your child is day trained but still wets at night. With these you don't need to throw away one pair of disposable pants a night, 30.5 pairs a month, 366 pairs a year, that's about at least $150 dollars, not to mention the waste added to landfill. If you have more than one or plan to have more than one child, you can do the math.
Care: Cold machine soak/hot wash/cold rinse/dry in medium to high heat with inside out(NO BLEACH, no softeners, no rash cream).
