✄ ABOUT THIS PROJECT: These very easy instructions are great for those with basic to intermediate sewing skills. I've provided 33 full-color photos to illustrate the simple step-by-step instructions.
This tote is so cute in both the gathered style and the pleated style - instructions are included for both. The interior pocket section is also customizable to suit your needs. A fabric covered button gives the bag a special custom look - and it's so easy, the button takes about 30 seconds to make! Finished Dimensions are 10 ½” tall x 16 ½” wide at bottom x 14 ½” wide at top x 4” deep.
***Cutting instructions are included and all pieces are easy rectangles; no printing is necessary because there are no pattern pieces.***
Supplies Needed:
• 1/3 yard decorative fabric* (this will be the bottom part of the exterior) If your decorative fabric has a design with a top and bottom, it should be horizontal (going across from one selvage side of the fabric to the other selvage side). If the design is vertical, you will want to purchase 2/3 yard.
• 1 yard of coordinating fabric* (this will be the exterior top and lining)
• 2/3 yard of lightweight fusible interfacing (at least 22” wide)
• ¾ yard of 45” Décor Bond interfacing OR 1 1/3 yard of 22” medium to heavy weight fusible interfacing
• 5” of ¼”-wide elastic
• 1 ½” (Size 60) fabric covered button kit (available in the notions area of your local fabric store)
• Erasable marker or pencil
* Fabrics should be at least 44/45” wide. Suitable fabrics include cottons, home décor fabrics, and lightweight corduroy. If you purchase corduroy for your decorative fabric, you will not need to use the lightweight fusible interfacing.
✄ IS THIS PATTERN REALLY "EASY TO FOLLOW?" Aivilo Charlotte patterns read like a friend who is sewing along with you, step-by-step through the project, with lots of full color photos to guide as well. Plus, if you have any questions while sewing, I'm always available at aivilocharotte [!at] gmail.com to help you.
✄ RESALE & COPYRIGHT POLICIES: You *may* make Aivilo bags and clothing items for sale, in limited production. If selling online, I simply ask that you put "design by AiviloCharlotte Designs" in your listings. The ebooks are protected by copyright, and not to be duplicated or shared in any way.
The pictures here are to show what the completed project looks like - you are purchasing sewing instructions, NOT the actual bags. This pattern was designed by me for my business, AiviloCharlotte, and is protected by copyright.
