I rescued this flight 69 brand off white antique suitcase set and transformed them into something wonderful for your home!
A little about the chair: with super comfy thick clean foam salvaged from an 80s suburban on the bottom seat, this is a surprisingly comfortable chair that is not short on charm or character. I love this beautiful salvaged pink paisley material on the cushions!
The backrest (lid of suitcase) has a hand-made pillow secured to it with screws and ribbon. The backrest is also reinforced with pretty pink ribbon. (Note: Backrest is meant for very light leaning against and rested against a wall is also recommended)
I can sit on the chair and it is not wobbly what so ever. I am 140 lbs. My boyfriend also sat it it at 160 lbs and I am sure it could hold more but just to be safe I would limit the weight.
It is reinforced with plywood and the legs can easily be removed by simply unscrewing them from the leg brackets that are permanently bolted to the bottom of the suitcase.
It sits on 7" tall legs.
The table: The mate to the chair makes a wonderful little side table to hold your drink, snacks and/or flowers. The inside is a little bit worse for wear but is clean with a few stains and discolorations. Pocket on lid is stretched.
The rear legs of the table are cut shorter and at a slight angle because of the slant of the suitcase. There is still a slight slant to the top but so minor that nothing will slide off (except a ball or marble!)
Legs are roughly 14.5" Tall.
Chair dimensions: 21"L X 18"W X 9"T (without legs) 16"T with legs.
Table dimensions: 18"L X 12.5"W X 7"T (without legs) 21.5"T with legs
♥These are vintage and not perfect! There are nicks and dents and scuffs that add to the charm and character of the pieces. The legs are salvaged off of old furniture and have their share of wear.
♥ Please note legs come disassembled in order to reduce shipping costs. Really easy to assemble.
