The Welsh Mountain is a very hardy breed found in the mountains of Wales. Historically they produce one lamb a year, but farmers tell me that with the shorter, milder winters in recent years, twins and even triplets are quite common. I visited one farm with over 700 ewes and they were dropping twins left and right. Welsh lambs will be coming to the shop later this year.
The head, horns and legs are porcelain and the body a cast stone (1lb). The fur is a woven alpaca from the same German source the Steiff teddy bears uses. Height 5"
