Base of Cuff:
Here is another incredible piece that will knock your socks off - this piece was created with a soft piece of beige cotton twill - thick and soft with the edges fringed. Then a layer of supple dark brown leather with a snakeskin texture was added. An overlay of beige cotton tops that, then another piece of textured dark brown leather. In the center of the dark leather long piece of copper mesh (yes, real copper) on top of which is a long rectangular piece of reddish-brown leather. A smaller strip of leather was used to create individual pockets for the many vials that are tucked into this cuff. One end of the cuff is finished in the same reddish-brown leather, with lots of bold stitches. The other end has a piece of the same leather that is doubled over to create a loop for the elastic band that is used as a closure. All of these layers are stitched throughout with awesome intersecting stitches of various patterns. There is no part of this cuff that is even remotely boring or overlooked. Remember, this is a one of a kind piece, so if you feel that this cuff is as incredible as it looks, grab it while you can...
Focals and Details:
The details of this cuff will really have your jaw dropping. The center portion is consumed by a large section of brown leather that backs the glass vials. The same leather is stitched to the top that creates the pockets for each of the six vials. Some of the vials are numbered, others are not. Each one can be filled with anything that suits your imagination.
To the left of the many vials is a large silver pocket watch plate. It is etched with a wavy pattern circling the border. On top of the pocket watch plate is a large vintage brass clock gear. They are both held in place with a piece of sturdy black cord. This pocket watch plate serves as the hook for the opposing elastic band on the other end of the cuff.
Beneath the vials are an array of hand hammered copper wire scrolls that wind in and around various brass gears, cogs and wheels. At one point, they wind beneath a stunning brass wire mesh heart that has an antique clock winding key piercing it from the left. A small brass cog graces the surface of the mesh heart, and from its center emminates a length of link chain in a beautiful gold finish that attaches simultaneously to one of the copper wire scrolls and a small silver bead.
This cuff truly rocks and is unlike anything anywhere - not for love or money. This piece is definitely over the top and will not last. Be the lucky person that gets to call this their very own original work of wearable art - and be the envy of all your friends while you're at it... A fantastic Steampunk piece.
Specs (approx.):
Approximately 9-1/2" long when closed and approximately 5" wide. This cuff easily accommodates much larger sizes. If a smaller size is desired, please send us a message so the closure can be modified to your specifications.
