This pop art bead-painting entitled THE HIJACK consists of extreme bead embroidery. The Yellow Sub and sharks were created by stitching tiny glass seed beads to felt 2-3 at a time using strong nylon thread. The finished beadwork was then stitched to a 24" x 36" acrylic painted canvas. Both the music-hating blue creatures (inside the submarine) and the image of a famous British rock band were collaged to the canvas. This piece took approx. 12 weeks to create from start to finish.
