an origami atlas beetle brooch/pin. the wing-case and upper body are made from bronzed paper.

i have many, many different colours and textures of paper stocks. just ask if you'd like a different type to the bronzed paper. i probably already have your favourite colour in stock.

quite durable with all of the layers of varnish - one of the few beetles that my cat can't destroy!

i often wear my beetle on my top hat or as a feature piece on a choker.

paper: pre-coloured art paper, bronzed paper

finding: nickle-plated tie pin/lapel pin

all of my origami pieces have been coated with 3-4 layers of epoxy varnish making them highly durable. the uv-stabilizer in the varnish also prevents the colours and art fading over time.

The workmanship of the oragami is clearly super clean and looks great, but was a pretty disheartened by the glob of (I’m assuming the waterproofing) lacquer down by the end of the wings. Just wish the blemish had been anywhere but the display side of the pin :(

Absolutely beautiful structure of the folds on this origami Atlas Beetle. I'm beyond obsessed with these beetles and seeing it done so intricately, top and bottom, had to grab one for myself. So glad I did.
