These lightweight squeegees are rigid but with a firm rubber edge, making them ideal for printing with thermofax screens onto textiles or paper.
WHAT SIZE SHOULD I CHOOSE?
When choosing the right size for your screen, it's important that the squeegee fits comfortably inside the frame of your screen, not riding up on its edges. It's also best to pick a squeegee that is a little bit bigger than the width of your image. If you're not sure which one you need, just ask me and I'll be happy to advise you.
Having smaller squeegees can be handy too, for when you just want to print part of the stencil.
CAN'T I JUST USE REGULAR SCREEN PRINTING SQUEEGEES?
Thermofax is a very easy printing method and you can print with any hard, thin and flat-edged item - for example a credit card. Regular screen printing squeegees are too heavy for thermofax use. These ones feel really nice to use with thermofax screens, and you'll get a perfect contact with your screen mesh, making it even easier to pull successful prints. The rubber edge is more gentle and less scratchy to print with than plastic, prolonging the life of your screen.
OTHER USES:
If you have a Print Gocco machine, you can use these squeegees with your screens and regular screen printing ink, instead of printing inside the machine. It's best to cover the cardboard frames with waterproof tape before you use them with water based inks.
These squeegees also make an excellent tool for applying sign vinyl to windows, walls or car trims.
