A beautiful 11x14 inch art print of the ancient Egyptian goddess Bast or Bastet.This picture is based on and incorporates alot of the design elements from many of the mural paintings and sculpture I have seen of the Egyptian goddess Bast from the old dynasty to the new. Bast is one of a few gods who were known as the "Eyes of Ra" a title thats given a god who functions as a protector of the king as well as Egypt, which is why I put Ra's eye next to her name cartouche. The sun god Ra was also Bast's father.
In later times her role as protector of the king was extended to children and pregnant women. She was also sometimes invoked in the hopes of bestowing fertility. Much later she became more associated with being a patroness of music, dance and the arts.
The original was a mix media painting.

The art is printed in excellent quality on a decorative fiber paper. The paper is a natural light tan color and has a nice texture and fiber inclusions that gives the prints a very unique vintage look.
