The cute critter appliqués are fun and easy to make. There are six designs – a bird, owl, ladybug, turtle, snail and dinosaur. Three of the designs are pictured here. They are approximately 5” x 7” (the sizes vary depending upon the shape). They can be reduced or enlarged to any size. You can appliqué the designs on t-shirts, tote bags, bibs, party hats, etc.

Instructions are given to sew a machine straight stitch around the appliqué designs. Other options would be to sew a machine zig zag or satin stitch around the edges. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can embroider the blanket stitch by hand around the edges of the appliqué pieces. A diagram is included in the instructions to hand embroider French knots for eye dots. Pieces of ribbon folded in half are used to make legs and antennae on some of the critters.
