This vintage kit uses old and new elements which are used in patchwork and quilting all over the world. The kit was inspired by my mother Nancy Claire who used to do so much patchwork, quilting and sewing when we were growing up (look out for My Mothers Sewing Box kit too - coming shortly).

My mother always had a pin in her top or dress because she popped it there as she sewed, or if she picked up an errant pin on the floor, and often we used to remind her about those pins in her top when we were about to go out.... there was a little dish at the front door for those pins removed as she left the house.

Like many women in those times my mother sewed all her adult life, she sewed our clothes, curtains and furnishings... even our school clothes, but her love was piecing together intricate patchwork quilts.

This kit contains a ruffle of wonderful selection of patchwork fabrics (beautiful American patchwork fabrics) in chintz and more modern patterns. ... this is very shabby shic - the edges are not neatened but I rather liked it that way! Please note that I have pieced these randomly and while there are 5 sections to each ruffle the placement of the colours are varied. You can cut these ruffles to - they will not come apart as they are sewn onto a piece behind to secure them.

The kit also contains puffy flowers made of quality patchwork fabrics, vitage laces and ribbons and some sweet buttons and charms. You will love creating with this kit I am sure!

All you need to add is your cardstock, photos and your title and journalling - how easy is that!! Perhaps inking or glimmermist on the background? The layout can be as simple or as complex as you wish.....
