Why are the Great Lakes so great? They form the largest group of freshwater lakes on the planet, holding 21% of the world's surface freshwater. And they are the closest thing to an ocean any of us in the Midwest will see -- limitless blue on a distant, curving horizon.

What makes these Great Lakes cards so great? This set includes one of each of the five Great Lakes: Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario, and five, crisp envelopes. Each card is designed, cut, and layered by hand from high quality cardstock. Packed in a recycled and recyclable box, this set is prefect for giving as a gift to your favorite lake-lover, or even suitable for framing. These cards pictured here are made in the Teal blue set, and are available in a variety of other colors. Each card measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches (11 x 14 cm) and is completely blank inside so that they may be given for any occasion. Because of the layers of graduated colored cardstock, these cards feel solid in your hand, but should go through the mail with a single first class stamp.
