This is a pair of powered computer speakers mounted in glass and on handmade wooden bases. These speakers are a brand new set of Logitech model S120 that has been turned into something besides boring black plastic. The speakers themselves have been removed and mounted in custom drilled and modified glass. All electronics (the amplifier board and power supply transformer) have been mounted on a clear plastic base and mounted inside the glass, and the volume knob and on/off switch have been moved to the exterior of the glass for ease of use.
A great conversation piece that has a modern and industrial look and is fully functional, they will turn heads and have people looking twice when you casually reach over to turn up the music.
The wooden bases are handmade out of baltic birch plywood and hardwood dowels. The curves are lined with felt to protect and hold the glass, while the bottom has rubber foam to grip the surface. There is a small incline between the front and rear support to give the speakers a gentle angle up.
These speakers work with any source that can take a regular 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo jack. The jack can work in anything from laptops to MP3 players to an IPad or other device.
The built in power supply works on 120V AC. If you wanted a European or other 220V version, a custom modification is possible but please contact me before purchasing to work out timing and your particular requirements.
There is a power LED on the amplifier board to tell you if the speakers are on or not.
