A classic example of the famous Tourmaline from the Himalaya Mine. This mine has produced some of the most acclaimed Tourmaline specimens in the world. This particle crystal shows a beautiful pink color (with a slight greenish hue at the base), excellent gemminess and superb luster on the prism and pinacoid faces. A wonderful gem crystal from this historic locality. No serious damage that I can see, only tiny trivial imperfections which are present on nearly all Tourmalines from this locality. The piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here (http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528). The piece comes with a display label from Wulff (Specimen #1044)
