This gigantic tote is perfect for every lady who wants a trendy bag but also needs a lot of space!
✄ ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
These frustration-free instructions are great for those with at least basic sewing skills. The bag has two exterior pockets topped with elastic casings to keep your favorite items secure yet easy to reach. There are also instructions for two different types of interior pockets - a simple patch pocket or a hidden zipper pocket for more advanced sew-ers. If that's not enough pockets, you can add an optional divider pocket with a zipper closure - a great way to stay organized!
Bag measures 19” wide across the top x 14” wide across the bottom x 14” tall x 5 ½” deep. Pattern includes a pattern piece for the pocket, and cutting instructions for the rest of the pieces, which are all easy rectangles.
✄ REQUIRED MATERIALS:
½ yard exterior focus fabric
¾ yard coordinating fabric for exterior pockets
1 ¼ yard coordinating fabric for lining, straps and bottom
1 ½ yards fusible fleece interfacing (I like Pellon brand 987F) at least 40” wide
1 package ¾” wide elastic
1 button measuring between 1 ¼” to 2” (a button with a shank will work best for this project)
erasable marker or pencil
1 safety pin (to pull the elastic through the casing)
12” zipper (optional – if making the zipper pocket)
To make the optional zipper divider pocket, you will also need to purchase an additional:
22” zipper
½ yard of 2 fabrics (½ yard for the outside of the pocket, and ½ yard for the lining of the pocket)
1 yard of fusible fleece interfacing
