When our children were small, baking and decorating a Gingerbread House was an annual "Dad and daughters" activity in the weeks before Christmas. We usually filled the Gingerbread House with confectionery and shared it with friends and family on Christmas Eve.
When some of the family had to go 'gluten free' it looked as if we might have to give up our tradition and the fun of building the Gingerbread House together.
After learning about gluten free flours and experimenting with my old recipe I made a successful gluten free Gingerbread House that looked and tasted like the old ones! I am now sharing it with you.
The recipe includes plans and templates for wall and roof panels,as well as instructions for decorating and assembling the Gingerbread House.
This Gingerbread house recipe is an easy recipe for gluten free gingerbread that tastes and feels like real gingerbread. I provide instructions for two gluten free flour mixes; one based on corn flour and one based on buckwheat flour.
All my recipes use ingredients that are readily available in supermarkets and health food stores.
