The piece was hand crafted from a picture frame, illustration board, spackle, acrylic paint, tea grounds, varnish, glue, and polymer clay. Each worm in the piece was made by hand.
The piece comes with the picture frame. As the worms are dimensional and stick out from the surface of the picture — there is no glass. The frame is store-bought, it is plastic that has been laminated with metallic antique gold finish. The picture frame is not metal. The frame has attachments on the back from which it can be hung. I would recommend leaving the piece in the frame. The actual illustration board on which the piece was constructed should not be bent, if it is this will result in the piece being damaged. Handle the piece with care. Do not pick at or pull on the worms: this may cause them to break away from the piece.
