The helicopter was developed by Bell Helicopter to meet the United States Army's requirement for a medical evacuation and utility helicopter in 1952, and first flew on 20 October 1956.

This is a print of the original watercolor on an acid-free, 100% cotton, single-side coated paper showing a natural white finish with a slightly structured, soft-textured surface matte. It is part of a set of vintage aircraft watercolors.
