This Bone necklace is an anatomically correct repro of a human femur bone, albeit a little smaller that the original one in your leg. The Femur is the longest and largest bone in the human body and is so well designed that it could hold up to thirty times the weight of the adult it carries. It's also the bone used by the apes in Stanley Kubrick's mindbender "2001: A Space Odyssey" to demonstrate man's ability to use tools, and how those tools ultimately end up using us.

What a bone.

The Femur itself (not including the jump ring) measures 1 1/2" long, and 1/2" across the widest point of the bone, spanning the parts known as the Greater Trochanter and the Head (which fits snugly into the hip socket). In truth, this femur pendant hangs upside down, but hey. So do we sometimes.

Completely hand carved, cast in the finest white bronze and hand finished.

The femur comes on your choice of chain or leather - all leather necklaces are adjustable and come with our signature Lost Apostle clasp (shown in the last photo).
