Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun) is one of the jewels of the Minneapolis area. Part of the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, Bde Maka Ska is at the center of a lively, green park, lined with trails, picnic grounds, and beaches, in an area that's been set aside as park land for nearly 200 years. To this day, kayaks and small sailed crafts dot the horizon on summer days, and there's almost always a steady stream of walkers, runners, skaters, and bikers along the trail.

This is an original, layered papercut piece, handmade in Minnesota, in your choice of color this one is in a deliciously rich set of Royal blues), and featuring the beautiful Bde Maka Ska.

This unique piece is intricately cut from five layers of high quality, acid-free cardstock. The top layer is a bright white, while the layers underneath are in ever-darker shades of color. Because this piece is handmade, it will differ very slightly from piece pictured here. The back is titled, signed and dated as an original piece.

The work measures 8 x 10 inches (about 20 x 25 cm), and is about 1/8" thick. It will be sent to you carefully wrapped and supported to ensure it arrives safely.

The shop owner, Marnie, was absolutely fantastic to work with and created a one of a kind contour map for me. She communicated with me often and made the designing process very easy. The map is absolutely stunning, with precise detailing, colors, and cuts, and was packaged with extreme care. I can’t wait to find another project to work on with Marnie.
