a vintage,1920s mid-length silk chiffon gown, heavily beaded in an elaborate deco design. faux pearls are in blossom-like arrangements adorned by a number of tubular and circular white beads. the dress has no closure except for two hook and eyes on left shoulder (there is some seam separation at the slit below the hook and eyes). gentle sloping scoop neck, sleeves cut for slight flutter. chiffon is double layered but slightly sheer. good vintage condition--there are two quarter-sized tears in the top layer of the back of the dress (see right side of fourth photo). While the overall patterning maintains a striking presence, I estimate 15-20 points at which the bead thread is loose or one or more beads is missing. the most significant of these flaws are on the left shoulder (left side of fourth photo) and front chest (left side of last photo). additionally, a few of the pearls have colored with age. this dress is certainly in stunning, wearable condition but it is advised to wear with gentle care.
