This pendant was made using a technique in which I over saturate metal clay with water and then roll it paper thin which leaves a raised "Lightning" texture, meaning no 2 will ever be alike. Once the thin layer has completely dried I VERY carefully peel the layer of clay off my work surface and then attach it to a thicker piece for stability. I then create and attach a bail before placing the piece in the kiln for 2 hours, where it sinters and becomes a solid .999 Fine Silver Pendant. After it cooled I polished it and gave it a beautiful blue patina to look like a lightning filled sky.

Sterling silver contains at least 92.5% of pure Silver (which is why you see the ".925" stamp on Sterling pieces) and 7.5% of another metal. (Usually copper, but sometimes Zinc or Nickel, which is what most people are allergic to when they can't wear Sterling Silver, not the Silver itself.)
Fine Silver contains 99.9% of pure Silver. The higher silver content not only means there is much less of any other type of metal (helping with allergies) but also that it won't tarnish as fast a Sterling Silver.
