Reproduction pirate coat patterned after Pirates of the Caribbean movies. This is a movie accurate pirate coat made after the character Will Turner. This linen colonial pirate frock coat is a dead ringer for the original. Great reproduction piece.

This coat is designed after the POTC movies and is a representation of Will Turner’s coat in POTC 3. This is a completely hand drafted pattern. The pattern was drafted completely from researching the movie costumes and photographs available to us.I t is a basic style however and can be used for any pirate that sails the seven seas…..Arrrrgh!

Made for 100% linen flax fabric. The linen weight is 8 oz and this is a very nice weight for a frock coat so it drapes nicely but has a nice crispness to the fabric. Since it is outerwear I use the heavier weight linen and it gives it a nice sturdy look of a coat but is an18th centuery Colonial style design

Cut full at the bottom to give it a nice drape. There are no godets in this coat but there are 3 vents in it’s design. There is an overlapping and self facing split in the lower center back

Sides of coat have been split but there is extra fabric cut into the vents that has been pleated to give it the correct drape to the coat. There is a picture of the side vents on the coat to show the pleats

Sleeves are a 2 piece fitted sleeve and they have a split cuff. These sleeves and cuffs are more fitted than the basic pirate coat making this look more like a fitted frock coat

The front has a stand up military style collar that is corded around the top

Corded faux buttonholes. Corded buttonholes were widely used during the 18th century. They appeared on most outerwear of the time period. The movie costume has corded faux buttonholes as well so we are in keeping with this reproduction

28 metal buttons on the coat. Metal buttons are hand distressed to give it a nice aged look . You can choose from silver or bronze color.

Pocket flaps and working pockets

Coat is unlined but all seams are finished

Lead time on this coat is 3-4 weeks from order date before shipping. This is a fairly complicated coat to make. Please provide our measurements and color choice when ordering.
