ATTENTION: The doll pictured is not available. Yours will be made to order, so make sure to check with me before ordering to find out my lead time.
This is a version of my Princess and the Pea Doll (inspired by the title character from Rachel Isadora's rendition of The Princess and The Pea) but done in an assortment of spring colors. In the fourth picture, you can see the original doll. The dreads I did are simply a shorter version of the long curls I've done on other dolls. She has big gold earrings, flowers on her shoes, and a little removable shrug. If you want one exactly like it, cool! If you want to request a completely different character from a different book, cool! Your Doll will be made in the softest acrylic yarn, to your specifications. It is stuffed firmly with polyester fiber fill. This would be the perfect lovey for your little girl, and an added intrigue to reading. She is about a foot in length. Her limbs are tightly crocheted but not stuffed, so they are bendable. Her heart shaped mouth will make your lucky girl absolutely fall in love. She is machine washable since she is bound to end up dragged around everywhere by her curls, braids, dreads, etc.
This is made to order so just let me know what ethnicity or complexion and what color scheme you want (you can request one exactly the same as one of these pictured, or you can be as detailed as you want and let me know your color selection for skin, eyes, hair, stripes on dress, leggings, shoes, flowers). Or you can simply send me a picture of a character you'd like me to imitate (pattern, clothing, hair, and accessories will change based on the image and my artistic take on the character).
NOTE ABOUT PRICING:
My prices have gone up and down over the years as I’ve tried to negotiate a compromise between paying myself an okay wage and having my items be affordable. I decided that I’d give you the opportunity to choose your price. My bottom price will pay me $10 an hour. I have it topped out at $23.45 an hour (which is the median pay for craft and fine artists in the US). $15 an hour is generally considered a “living wage,” and a price point that reflects that rate is marked as such. I greatly appreciate any sale, regardless of what you choose, and I thank you in advance for understanding my desire to fully honor my work and time. If you can’t afford a price in the upper range, please don’t feel bad about selecting a lower price option. You are my support base, and I don’t want to lose your business!
ABOUT ME: My two little kiddos are my life. I’m addicted to the practice of yoga. I’m a classically trained soprano. I’ve had one cavity my whole live. I don’t believe things without evidence. I use more salt than recommended, and I believe that’s a good thing. I made my own pogs as a child. I enjoy learning traditional Swedish tunes on fiddle. I recognize my own white privilege and try to use it to help proclaim BLACK LIVES MATTER. I’ve crocheted since 1993. I’ve never purchased mp3s online. I buy CDS. I want to try crocheting with cassette tape. I have three yarn cabinets, 2 yarn boxes, and bags and piles of yarn scattered throughout the house at any given moment. I crochet more than a full time job’s worth. I can save anybody with my blood, and I donate as often as I can. I’m pretty much a carnivore, and I realized that digestion is better without fiber! I even have a food Instagram: @Aileen_Cuisine. Conversation with my son when he was 3 years old:
Prior: “Who are these?”
Me: “Those are your nipples.”
Prior: “My nipples wants to take a bath.”
