The perfect quilt for a little boy, a girl or as a gift for a baby shower, as a crib quilt or a lap quilt or even a wall hanging in a child's room.

On the quilt top I used a mixture of bright and colorful fabrics from Kate Spain's Central Park collection for Moda in blues, greens, yellows and oranges with little zoo animals in lovely spring and summer colors. On the back I used lovely soft and fluffy fleece in aqua blue.

The quilting is done in wavy lines to give this quilt a clean and modern look but it hasn't been overquilted to leave the fluffy softness of the backing. The binding was done by hand in a light brown polka dot fabric.

It has not been washed as I wanted to leave it to its new owner to decide the look. Washing creates a more antique wrinkled effect that I like, but others may not.

It was a joy to make this quilt and I hope it will bring you joy as well.
