Appagare is a small, family collective shop. Our adult twin sons have a form of Autism called Asperger Syndrome. With the twins' disability, entering the traditional job market was an extra challenge for them.

To supplement their regular volunteer work at the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, WA, we began building small portable barbecues as a vehicle for the twins to create their own income opportunities.

Each unit is created by hand from raw sheets of metal with the twins assisting in many capacities. The results of their hard work are the handmade products that we offer here.
