About

Welcome to Camp Pine Needle! My name is Maura Condrick and I'm a freelance illustrator, splitting my time between Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Brooklyn, New York.
Like most useful things, my garden markers were created out of necessity. I had just moved to the Outer Cape from NYC and was new to growing my own food. When I joined the community garden I was afraid I'd forget where everything was planted or not recognize what it was as it grew. I tried to buy garden markers but couldn't find enough of the same style or right size, and I didn't want them to compete visually with my beautiful vegetables. And so, inspired by botanical prints and old seed packets, I made my own!

Lots of people asked to buy them and I decided to set up a shop.

I have about thirty plants listed here: most are hand-drawn and eight (herbs) are made from my own stamps. I have plenty in stock and I'm happy to draw to order. Just send me a note with a plant or herb request and I'll make a custom marker for you.
Remember that all of the markers are hand drawn (or hand stamped), so there will be variations from the ones posted, or on multiple orders. This is what makes them special-they are not mass produced!

The garden markers are all 14" tall and come in three widths. Small: 2-2 1/2"(herbs), medium: 4-4 1/2", (assorted veggies)and large: 4 3/4 to 5" wide (mostly gourds).
I am always adding new varieties, so keep checking back!
