Thank you for stopping by my Etsy shop. Everything you see in my shop is handmade or hand-dyed by me in Sligo, in the West of Ireland.
Each piece of crochet is made with great attention to detail and finish. My designs are tried and tested, and combined with carefully selected contemporary yarns to produce very wearable and practical crochet accessories. All items are packaged securely and sent out quickly.
My venture into yarn dyeing developed from a desire to learn a new craft and creating beautiful yarn seemed like the natural step. Being pretty new to the indie yarn dye scene, I am dyeing my yarns on a small scale in order to develop a range of bases and colours unique to Corcra.
When dyeing, I am always conscious of working in a way that is as eco-friendly as possible. Using a natural fibre like wool, that has traditionally been used in Ireland for centuries, needs to be balanced with the disadvantages of using modern dyeing methods. I dye with the environment in mind, by not wasting water or energy and exhausting dyes completely.

And in case you are wondering about the shop name - the Irish for purple is 'corcra' - my favourite colour.
