"Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life." Wayne Dyer
As a young child I spent hours playing in our attic. It was full of treasures, and vintage clothing. I would try on clothing, rummage amongst old letters, photographs and imagine away the hours. No small wonder, one of my favorite books was The Little Princess. I loved reading about Sarah Crewe imagining wealth and treasures while locked in her attic.
My sister and I spent our summers, selling macrame' and candle creations. I delivered newspapers and relished in making my own spending money. I crocheted my first afghan at age 8. My first weekly paycheck came from working at a handicraft store. While at college, I found myself working at a fabric, craft, then sewing machine store.
Raising two children, I often found things were a financial struggle. To make a dollar go further, I frequented thrift shops, and bought at yard sales. I made my kids clothes, and learned that I still enjoyed the quality and style of vintage clothing. I enjoyed decorating with the patina of vintage home decor. Years later, I became a single mom, and obtained a job for a large company. My financial status changed but my tastes had not. I still loved garage sales, sewing, and discovered a new passion, the computer. I was traveling 3 hours a day, and working 11 or 12 hours a day. It became almost a physical ache to be home with my children, and doing the things I loved. Taking one step at a time, I made that ache become a reality.
I am now an entrepreneur, and a start up business owner. My plans are to start a blog, share my finds, and have time to create. My new addiction is Pinterest.com (find me at http://pinterest.com/sugarlmtnantqs/ )
