About

From the time I was knee high to a grasshopper, I have been curious about how things were made and have been inspired to create and craft. I have wonderful memories of going to craft classes at the recreation center as a very young girl in the summer and making a tile mosaic trivet inside the lid of a coffee can, my first stitchery sampler tote bag out of burlap, which was pink and green and were popular colors then, a mixed media collage of an owl, I created from objects picked up from a nature walk of pine cones, pebbles, leaves and tiny branches from a tree.

So, be it, I was hooked on crafting. From paint by number, to spray painting dresser drawers to sewing prom dresses, I was on my way.

I was sewing by hand and on a sewing machine at the early age of eight which was inspired by my mother. I purchased my first sewing machine, by earning the money myself making and selling crocheted and macramé purses out of jute. I could not leave home for college without a sewing machine.

My education, teaching and work experience are in Clothing and Textiles. Cloth is a wonder in itself to me; from brand new materials to vintage and antique textiles and linens. I never let my mind wander too far from that realm. I enjoy designing, preserving textiles from the past and utilizing, repurposing and upcycling those textiles that are beyond their years as originally intended. I call it craftcycling. I can never get enough of it. Wouldn’t you like to see my stash?

I favor all kinds of art and craft forms and have dabbled in woodworking to photography, floral arranging, stenciling, cross-stitch, scrap booking, painting, crocheting, weaving, clothing design, craft pattern design, doll and bear making, decoupage, mixed media to decorating and more. Many of these crafts I am self taught in. You will see a mixed variety of items in my shop. If there is something you see that you might like just a little bit different in color or theme, just convo me and we will see what we can work out for you in a custom order.
