My Folk Art - family passed on by hand.
In some way or another all of my handmade items tell a story. I will sometimes share a memory or goings on in rural life... the story is also in my hands - Learning to sew from my Grandmother Mary Louise and my Mother...Remembering the English Folktales told by my Grandmother Lilian...Watching my Father turn magic clay into beautiful little animals.
And so our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see - or like a sealed letter they could not plainly read.
