I have been sewing all my life, thanks to my mom, and fell in love with the art of quilting over 20 years ago. I have worked hard at learning the art of quilting and have mastered many techniques, from the time honored skill of fine hand quilting to the modern methods using quick piecing and machine quilting.
I teach locally, and have served as a show judge. I have published several patterns and recently a design of mine was a winner in an international contest and is featured in a book - Jelly Roll Inspirations. I enjoy creating my own quilt designs and look forward to publishing more patterns in the coming years.
I use a Juki TL-2000i for most of my piecing and machine quilting. This is a machine that sits on the table, not a long arm machine. I started machine quilting several years ago when I came to the realization that if I did not learn to machine quilt that I would never catch up on all my UFO's (Un-Finished Objects!). So I learned to machine quilt, but I still have a stack of tops because I love to sew and can't seem to catch up with my own productivity! I still enjoy hand quilting as well, the heirloom look it adds is so special!
My workroom is full of completed projects, and in order to make room for more ideas and more material I need to sell some of them. They are all top quality quilts and accessories handmade by me alone in my smoke free studio. Some of them have been made as samples to hang in the local quilt shop I work at, some of them are original ideas. And now some of them are possible patterns that I am producing!
I am always exploring new ideas, and if you have a brainstorm for something you'd like to have made, just let me know - I love working on projects that are a little out of the box.
I also enjoy writing, check out my blog at: http://pamelaquilts.blogspot.com.
