“Interesting things happen to people who can weave them into interesting stories.”
—Amos Tversky
We are husband and wife with two boys—Søren and Silas, and our dog Pearl. We live and will soon work at The Five Acre Wood in Chester County.
Walter and I started Peg and Awl 13 years ago in our Philadelphia row home when Søren was two and Silas was still in my belly. It began without a vision – just an affection for making things we felt were missing in the world. First we made things for ourselves, and now we make them for everyone.
We expanded out of our house and into our own building in Philadelphia on an acre of land shared with our team and plants and bees! Then the business got too big! So we sold the building and have smallened Peg and Awl to fit into our renovated barn. It feels a lot like the old days again, but with a lot of lessons learned, woven in!
We love adventures and discoveries and never stop making new things as a result, and trust that having more time and more open air and plants surrounding us will give us endless inspiration to pivot in a yet unknown way.
We are so glad you are here! Have a look, a read, and do let us know if you have any questions!
