For me, photography is a way to understand my surroundings. After moving to Sweden in 2006 I was struck by the difference in the quality of the light here and how it affects the colours in the landscape.
I am working with a technique that simplifies and makes clearer the colours that make up the landscape. our eyes are more concerned with providing detail for us and I found that this detail gets in the way of the colours that are out there. By blurring the image slightly the details are softened and the colours can come through.
