Three sheets 2 the wind was a design and manufacturing studio that originated in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 2004, the company was born out of a passion for vintage prints and handmade, artisan-quality textiles. From pillows and wall prints to beautiful silk-screened duvets, three sheets 2 the wind's collection exudes a love of craftsmanship and timeless style.
In 2009, the studio relocated to idyllic Georgetown, Kentucky due to the happy union of one Ohio girl and a Kentucky boy. All artwork was designed, drawn, hand-printed, and sewn in the 1,200 sq ft studio.
The shop closed officially in 2014, but inventory is still available for purchase from time to time.
Three sheets 2 the wind designs were influenced by the skeletal structure of plant life. The screens were made using hand-painted images, then placed and screened individually by hand. The process allowed for natural inconsistencies that gave each piece a unique look, embracing the one-of-a-kind aesthetic that is characteristic of three sheets 2 the wind designs. The end result embodied the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi which is defined as embracing the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete - it is a beauty of things modest and humble.
