A bit about me…
As a young girl, I was fascinated by my mom’s collection of 1960's children's books filled with bold, graphic cut paper illustrations. Imperfectly cropped shapes and vivid colors interacted together to create magic on every page.
I eventually grew up and went on to study art in college, earning a BFA degree with an emphasis in painting. I worked with paint and portraiture for several years after graduating, but eventually found myself drawn back to those paper collage images that first inspired me as a little girl.
My current work on display here at Tiny Fawn is mentored by those early images, while the challenge of creating each piece is as satisfying as the outcome. Sheer sheets of tissue paper are delicately cut into geometric shapes. Each individual shape layered and adhered to canvas, one on top of the next until new colors, shadows and tiny creatures finally emerge.
I have recently enjoyed designing art and products in partnership with companies including Papyrus, Land of Nod and Harp Design Co. My prints can also be purchased online at Juniper Print Shop and Artfully Walls.
