Yarn Obsession on Etsy began in 2006 when I was home on bedrest with my first child. I'd been crocheting for a few years and as I was stuck, mostly in bed, I needed something to help me pass the time.

I'm not sure how, but I found this little place online called Etsy where all sorts of handmade things were being sold and decided to go ahead and open my own shop. The pictures were horrible and there really wasn't much thought of how it would work. I just threw a few things up and waited.

Not much happened in those first few years, but in 2008 I was laid off from my job and again came back to my shop. I took better pictures and did more to get the word out. It started to work better for me.

Today, I work as an Order Administrator by day and by night I create patterns and sell them in the shop. I've learned a lot about what I need to do for my own little shop as I've evolved my Small Business Marketing business and knowledge.

Where the shop will go, I'm not sure, but I know that it will always be a part of my life in one way or another.
